This is an odd time of year at a news magazine. Offices around us seem emptier every day, the morning traffic commute is mercifully easier and there seems to be less news. So for news addicts such as us it’s a challenge to ensure we produce issues of YOU that get even our adrenaline going.
But we manage - this issue is a good example. Because “news” surely includes Leeanda Reddy, the new star of Mr Bones 2, Leon Schuster’s latest big-screen hit, and Mzwandile Stick, captain of SA’s rugby sevens team which recently snatched victory over New Zealand.
It’s YOU’s kind of news because a large part of our success recipe is to introduce you to people you might otherwise see only on TV.
And we were there to see actor Hennie Jacobs (7de Laan’s Diederik) slip a wedding band on lovely Marissa Vosloo’s finger.
Hasn’t the year flown by! Next week, in our second last issue of 2008, we mark Christmas with a special celebration by sparkling celeb couple Nico and Christi Panagio, memorable Christmas stories by some of our writers and loads of other surprises.
