In YOU of 4 December

FROM YOU EDITOR ESMARE WEIDEMAN
Everyone seems to be having a tough time as the year-end approaches. Wherever I go people are concerned about the economy, worrying whether they can afford Christmas shopping, whether they’ll get all their work done in time - and on top of it their kids are writing exams.

So we’ve tried to make this week’s YOU a lighter read. My personal favourites in the mag are Sulaiman Philip’s interview with Rod Stewart (sorry, but after all these years I’m still a fan!), the profile of Absa’s new chief executive, that phenomenal woman Maria Ramos, and the intimate extract from Mark Keohane’s biography of Bok Percy Montgomery.

*This week we kick off an exciting competition in which we’re giving away (in conjunction with Toyota) three Avanzas. Keep the puzzle grid that you’ll find in YOU of 4 December and don’t miss the YOU issues dated 11, 18 and 25 December and 8, 15 and 22 January. They’ll contain the cutout pieces you’ll need to stick on the grid to complete the puzzle.
